mpg732 8 Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 So I have EMBY server on the same windows 10 PC as PLEX server, all my files are on a NAS. Have PLEX and EMBY app's on my Shield. Both are up to date. I have a lot more issues with buffering and playback on EMBY then I do in PLEX. I have every thing set to pass through, and I can see that there is no transcoding from with in the apps. I have looked through settings on the server and nothing is jumping out at me to change to improve things. Mainly have issues with high bit-rate MKV's. HDR and DV files. So any thoughts on this? Trying to decided to stay or stick with PLEX.
Luke 42079 Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 Hi there, can you try sideloading this on your Shield and see how it compares? https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks.
FrostByte 5392 Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 Which version of the Shield are you using? The ones having problems in the other thread you posted in were predominately using the Shield 2019 tube

So I can only install the ARM7 Version. Seems to play better. How ever I can not keep that version. Granted it does play Dolby Vision but it does not have a chapter selection for a movie nor does it give you an option to continue playing from where you left off. Only restart the movie. Two features I would need.
