Change Sort Order for Single Season

I have the show Stargate SG-1 and its set to sort order of DVD. Season 8, however, is wrong on TVDB in that my DVD has the first 2 episodes as part 1 and part 2 which matches what that site has for Aired order. All the other seasons are correct, and I don't want to change the entire series to Aired order or other seasons will be wrong. I have metadata in each of the video files and I even have them named correctly so for example Season 8, my first three episodes are

Stargate SG-1 - s08e01 - New Order (1).mp4

Stargate SG-1 - s08e02 - New Order (2).mp4

Stargate SG-1 - s08e03 - Lockdown.mp4

Yet they are displaying in Emby as

1. New Order (1)

2. Lockdown

I checked the metadata as I was going to change the TVDB episode ID to the Aired episodes for that season but they already have the correct IDs even though they are sorting by completely different IDs. So my question is, is there somewhere I can change the sort order for a single season, leaving 9 seasons as DVD and changing just one of them to Aired? I would just reorder but this doesn't work since some seasons have combined episodes where as others are separate. If not, is there a way to just force Emby to not pull the data from one of these online databases since I have it all saved in the .mp4 files anyways?

EDIT: I thought I could just rename all the titles, overviews and default images but turns out that won't work. The issue is because its detecting I only have 19 episodes, with 01-02 being a single one, I'm missing my last one as it's showing only 19 episodes when there really are 20.

Found a solution...

  1. Set series Display order to Aired.
  2. Go to season in question.
  3. Edit Metadata and check "Lock this item to prevent future changes"
  4. Set series Display order back to DVD.

Hi, what do you mean by this exactly?

My DVD actually had Episodes 1-2 as two separate episodes, so a total of 20 episodes for season 8. TVDB has that season (DVD order) as episode 1-2 being combined for a total of 19 episodes for season 8. So when I initially tried to just update the metadata manually for each episode, it was still only displaying 19 episodes, even though I have 20 in that folder. I was able to solve this though with my workaround above by setting to Air date, marking all 20 as locked, then changing the series back to use DVD sort order.

So you have one season that does not conform to DVD order as it is Aired order.

Aired order has 20 episodes

DVD order has 19 episodes.

Yes this requires some manipulation as you have discovered.
