Display by release date in home page or suggestions

Hi, considering a move from Plex to Emby.     One of the things I really like in Plex is when I go to the movie library page, there's already a listing of recently released movies.

Is there a way to either have this as a default list or to show this on the home page?   Or maybe in the suggestions section?  

Apologies if this has been answered - I have searched and searched and haven't found any threads on this.

I assume you're talking about your own movies.  So to be clear do you want to see the latest items you've added to your libraries (new to system) or do you want to so only show the newest items by published release date?

You can sort by both of these options in your libraries and set them as defaults as well (just so you know).

HI, thanks for the reply!  The thread link provided by EBR is a pretty extensive discussion of exactly what I was looking for - namely to have on the home page/easily found a 'New Releases' list (i.e. the actual release date of the movie) .    As with the OP in that thread, it's about making it 'easy' for my family that isn't quite so computer literate.   

Thanks for pointing out the default settings - I am still wading through the settings & advanced settings.

It's really about putting it front and center on the home page for other people.   it looks like Chef has written a plugin that will do what I want.
