thisguy2626 3 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Version 3.0.5326.13255 There was an error connecting to the remote Media Browser repository. Running on port 8096. Hey all, it looks like my server automatically updated a few days ago, maybe a week, and since then it has been throwing up constant errors when it tries to rescan my library, or check for updates. It can still get some data like people and subtitles. What could be causing this? All of the logs in my logs folder are uploaded to my dropbox. The most recent server log ends in 918. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3o679prf496hf57/AADWEnplF8qxBEf6HKbxjkAta I did a search on here for similar issues. One of them was caused by the admin section being down, and the other was the firewall on the persons computer that was running the server. I have checked my firewall and router settings and nothing is being blocked. Thanks for your time. Edited August 8, 2014 by thisguy2626
Luke 42078 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 I only looked at the first log so it would be easier for you just to provide one that demonstrates the issue. However, the error you're reporting has no effect on the library scan. It's just related to checking for updates.
thisguy2626 3 Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 (edited) You're right, it does attempt to scan the library but fails at 39.7%... Any suggestions to both problems? I'm pretty sure that any log I have uploaded to dropbox will demonstrate the issue as it is on going and has been, apparently, for a few days. All of those server logs only go back as far as 08/06/2014 and it looks as if the issue has been occuring since before then. If not, then just look at the one I indicated in my original post since that was the most recent at the time that I made the request for help. Thanks. Edit: I uninstalled and then reinstalled and the issue with it not connecting to the repository has resolved itself. The media library also successfully rescanned, however prior to that I went and removed each path from the library directory and it only fails on two of my hard drives. Both of the drives are shared with full control and nothing has been changed on either in many months; I also performed a check of each drive and no errors were returned... What could cause the server to suddenly stop being able to scan them? Edited August 9, 2014 by thisguy2626
thisguy2626 3 Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 It has happened again... I cannot connect to the media browser repository, and for some reason it is also effecting the ability to scan my media library. I have changed nothing about the server settings, and as my last post it was a fresh install of the program. I did notice that it updated itself twice yesterday, I'm not sure how many tims it has updated since then. This morning when I came online it was no longer setup as a windows service and I had to active it manually. Whats going on? I won't reinstall it until after I speak with someone so I can continue to trouble shoot. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3o679prf496hf57/AADWEnplF8qxBEf6HKbxjkAta the log ending in 885 is the most recent, but it was being written at the time of upload (at least it was continuously being updated as I could watch the file size increase) so I have added others as well.
Luke 42078 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 As I've mentioned in post #2, it has no effect on your library scan.
Luke 42078 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 but your server in general is having trouble reaching external sites.
thisguy2626 3 Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) I know you said it should have no effect, but something is going wrong that correlates to both connecting to external sources and scanning my library. Since it has happened twice now, it is not just coincidence. Edit: Also, it appears to not effect every remote server. I can download trailers for the plugin just fine. thisguy2626 3 Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) So I removed the server from this PC and am attempting to install it on another in my house. I'll update if it happens again... Edited August 13, 2014 by thisguy2626
