Carlo 4561 Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 If you use NFO files, Emby should load your old settings/metadata back in so the above would not apply. BTW, changing that setting doesn't change anything in the database or any NFOs. It would apply to any new media added. If your loading media that has an NFO it's been in your system before and I'd assume "older" therefore it likely wouldn't show up as new content!

Ahh I see, I wasn't certain if changing that setting would apply to existing media or not. I did apply a new naming format for movies, when that happened Emby triggered a library scan on it's own and it said I had no movies (to be expected, I assume) and it scanned my entire library and pulled in metadata, despite me having .nfo files and not changing anything else. Again, I think that is to be expected since the file name changed, so I was anticipating it. As for the OP, if they are still around, I think I may have found a solution thanks to a community member on Reddit so I wanted to share it just in case someone comes along this post. In Radarr, under Media Management check the advanced options and set "Change File Date" from "None" to "In Cinema Date". What this will do is change the date added to the date it's in Cinemas as opposed to the date it's imported into the Library. Then, in Emby under the Library Advanced options, set to 'Use File Creation Date'. This will stop movie upgrades from appearing in Recently Added. Cheers 1

Cheers In the Emby movie library you can choose to sort by Date Added or Premiere Date.. your suggestion works so far as forcing the Date Added to be the same as the Premiere Date, but that comes with 2 consequences... first is that if an older movie is queued into overseerr/radarr, then this overridden Date Added will be when it first came out and will not show up in latest movies on the home screen, which is a problem for me when my wife adds a movie and bugs me about not finding it or not knowing it was found and added.. the second problem is obviously since the premiere date and added date are the same we can't sort them differently when browsing the library. hate to keep comparing to plex, but plex does not consider an upgraded file as "newly added" and i prefer that approach.

HI, if you keep nfo files it will contain the date added value, and then when you upgrade your video file you can retain this information. My guess is that you either don't have nfo files, or radarr is deleting or overwriting them when it upgrades a file. 1
