StenchMaster 0 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Hello. I've just noticed that I'm missing exactly one movie from each of my "Collections". The missing movies are still listed under "Movies". I haven't made any server changes, so I can only presume that an update has caused this bug. Can anyone else confirm this?
candyman 6 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 have also noticed this for some collections, but a quick check on www.themoviedb.org/search/movie_collection?query=collection&page=16 (were Auto Box sets get data) shows that there info is not upto date on some box sets. hope this helps you rgds Andrew
StenchMaster 0 Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 Solved. Lastest update of Auto Box Sets fixed the issue.
barrettuk 3 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Just noticed the same issue, looks like the same thing I had several weeks back where 1 movie from each collection is now missing! I did a forced refresh but still the same, I am also seeing many movies are now missing from the main movie library so I don't know what is going on with these updates. I'm going to see if I can fix this and from now on no more auto updates from me... I love the fact new features are being added etc. but tbh its all getting a little too much for me. I don't really use this for anything other than movies and so all this new stuff is making my user experience go down hill - I wish I could get and keep an older version running as that did everything I needed and was very stable. Thanks for the message on how you corrected the problem...
Luke 42079 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 i think this is simple. autoboxsets keeps in sync with data from tmdb. if their collection data is changing, so too will your collections. if this is a little too hectic for you, then you might consider installing the plugin, letting it create the collections, and then uninstalling it.
CashMoney 94 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Noticed some films not showing up in box sets, went to do a refresh and found an update to the plugin. So not sure when this started happening but now, if I manually refresh the box set plugin, all my collections always have 1 film missing. Can't get logs right now (htpc is being used right now) but will do soon. Figured I'd post and see if it was just me or not before I post logs.
skidmarks 199 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) I am using the Auto Box Set Plugin. I deleted all of my manual box sets months ago. Found the plugin worked much better than my manual work did. Noticed about a week ago a bunch of my box sets (collections) were only showing one movie all of a sudden... Did a refresh and same thing. Went into the metadata for my collections and started to edit to include the movies that should be in there (BTW I have my plugin set to minimum of 2 movies). Did the first couple and realized that TMDB deleted a few of the collection ID's (wish there was more control over who can just go in and change that information). Instead of populating with images I decided to delete them... Here is where I ended up deleting my entire collections metadata twice! This warning screen pops up when you delete a collection in the metadata... When you hit OK button the metadata for that collection will be deleted, but twice the Confirm Deletion box remained and did not leave. The first time this happened I hit the cancel button and then focused the mouse on the web page instead of the box to try and make it go away. Then I hit the OK button again and bam all was gone. The second time I did it for "trouble shooting" purposes. Trust me when I tell you if you hit the OK button again the ENTIRE metadata for collections will be deleted. Forcing you to rescan in the auto box sets plugin. Although this ended up fixing my problem (starting a fresh), I Still had to manually delete the IDS that were removed in TMDB though. Just wanted to warn others not to click that OK button more than once! Edited August 20, 2014 by skidmarks
skidmarks 199 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I love the Auto Box sets... Spending hours and hours doing it manually in MB2 wasn't a bunch of fun. If I have to go in (every few weeks) and fix them so be it. I was just warning what might happen if you hit that OK button more than once.
yardameus 221 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I noticed a month or two ago that TMDB's collections were completely out of whack compared to six months ago. Collections that were there a while back where non-existent. Some slowly started coming back, so I'm guessing they are rebuilding/restructuring in some way. Hopefully this will become less of an issue as time goes by.
ebr 16184 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Solved. Lastest update of Auto Box Sets fixed the issue. That is coincidental as the last update did not change any logic. Probably things getting modified at tmdb as candyman said.
barrettuk 3 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I had this problem before and now its back - wish it was stable, I have one movie missing from each collection and can't get it fixed. I deleted them all to rebuild and now its worse, I've lost over half of the collections as well now :-(
ebr 16184 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Can you compare the collections with "missing" titles on tmdb? Are they different there? Do the missing ones have a tmdb collection ID defined in your metadata?
CashMoney 94 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 So just to be sure I understand this correctly. I've checked on the TMDB, and many of the films are missing from the correct collections as has been mentioned before. I've gone through my library manually and added the correct collection id to the films that are missing that info (e.g. Alien3 is no longer part of a collection on TMDB, so I've manually added the collection id number that matches the other 3 films in that collection). Having refreshed my box sets and ran a library scan, I can see that all of my films are now in the correct collections. In the web client interface I have checked (and unchecked, rechecked) the box to collapse my movies into collections within the movies view. I still have random films from collections (incorrectly) outside of the collections, and also (correctly) in the collections, within the movies view. Note, three aliens films outside the collection, the collection being shown and inside that collection is the expected four films of the Alien collection. You can also see two of the three Appelseed films outside of the collection, and in that collection is the expected three films. I have 67 collections and about 60 of them are likes this, with films both in and out of the collections. I also have the same within MBC and Android clients. So again to be clear, despite me correcting the info manually, is this the expected behaviour caused by the info being missing/wrong on TMDB or is something else going on? If this is the expected behaviour, would uninstalling the auto box sets plugin correct this behaviour or is there anything else I can do to fix it or do I simply have to wait till it's fixed on TMDB's end? (Just read the above back to myself, to be clear (again!) if the above comes across negatively, it's not supposed to, honest! I'm genuinely just looking for clarification on something everybody else probably understands )
ebr 16184 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Okay, so all of that is a completely different issue. Before getting to that - was it correct that the collection IDs were missing from the films that you thought should be there and fixing that fixed the original issue reported here?
CashMoney 94 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 ID's were missing, yes; the TMDB seems a bit if a mess for collection ID's right now. Manually entering the missing ID's fixed it in that the missing items are now part of the correct collections again. I couldn't say for definite but it now seems a bit of a role reversal. I think that now the collections that had a missing film are displaying the films that didn't have a problem outside of the collection. E.g Alien3 was outside the collection because of the missing ID from TMDB info. Corrected the ID manually and now Alien 3 is not outside the collection but the other 3 films are, despite all the films having the same correct ID.
ebr 16184 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Okay, so the original issue is what we thought it was - a problem with the source data. Your next issue - with the display - has something to do with the base server/API functionality and not the source data nor plug-in I believe. Best to start a new thread on that one.
