GiGo 108 Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 As title, my Roku device is showing up twice in Active Devices (I only have 1 Roku); I have sinced paused the show and started watching another show, it showed up twice for the first minute then disappeared, the show I am watching now is Direct Playing rather than Transcoding, but same behaviour for either, I have just updated to Server 4.6.0.21, but I think I saw it on 4.6.0.10 also. Log file attached if it helps. embyserver.txt
roaku 842 Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 Do you have both the release version and beta versions of the Roku app installed?
speechles 2055 Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 (edited) There were recent adjustments to "protect" the device name and http encode it. The server can then work with special characters in the device name. It looks like the server is not showing plain text for those encoded entity and instead shows them bare. This means spaces become %20 rather than spaces. It might be the apps fault too. I can look into this on the app side. @Luke Should the device name be sanitized of special characters or should we be percent encoding them? The server is not unencoding percent encoded entity. Is it supposed to? Edited January 29, 2021 by speechles

Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Yes this has actually been reported in several topics. I see it for my Roku and IOS.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Okay that implies a client update, so all clients need to updated?
Luke 42077 Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 It's an issue in the iOS and Roku apps and is resolved in their next updates. thanks. 1
