help to compare content of librarys

Hello,

I need an idea to compare the number of elements in my libraries with the number of folders on the hard drive.

I have several libraries with TV shows, TV shows, kids, TC show documentaries, etc.

e.g.

the Librayry TV show shows me 2300 items

2312 are displayed in the folder view.

There are actually 2348 folders in the folder on the hard drive.

Does anyone have an idea how I can find out which elements I am missing.

(that the number of elements does not match the number of folders on the hard disk for each library created)

I hope someone has a useful idea.

thx Taurec

Maybe the Reports plugin exporting a csv/excel and a command line list of folders,

yes, the report plugin export a list of TV-Shows.

But the export contain all TV-Shows, no split to assigned Library.

The export is not helpful really.

thx

Do any of your TV Show folders belong to multiple Libraries?

Hi,

all libraries have their own folder on the hard disk.

e.g.

TV shows -> \ TV shows (Elements Library=2300, Elements Folderview=2312, Elements HDD=2348)

TV-Shows Kids -> \ TC-Shows_Kids (Elements Library=415, Elements Folderview=422, Elements HDD=437)

TV shows documentary -> \ TC-Shows_Doku (Elements Library=807, Elements Folderview=821, Elements HDD=844)

The export from report plugin create a list of elements.

(may this is a feature request for the plugin "localpath" 🙂

And what is the total number of Series that Reports plugin returns? 3522?

The report shows me the sum of all elements in the library =  3522

Then you should do as @Happy2Play suggested, just concatenate those 3 folderlists into single one and compare against Reports "Series" export, should be quite straightforward to spot the differences.

Path for "Series" view wouldn't make much sense as they can be spread across multiple folders and/or drives, unlike "Movies" and "Episodes" (for which there is) whose location, in general, can be pinpointed.

What could possibly produce the result you desire is to introduce another top-level menu in left-side dropdown chooser, under "Media" and "Activity", call it "Library", after which right-side dropdown will list your Libraries and upon selection would basically present 'restricted' "Series" view limited to chosen Library and could be further manipulated or exported from there.

At the moment I can only compare the export of the report plugin (contains all elements of the TV shows) with

a folder list created on the HDD.

I can then analyze the differences and, if necessary, find out

why the number of elements between Library / Folderview and HDD are present.

Thanks for your suggestions, but as long as it is not possible to export the elements of the individual libraries, you have to take the detour.

I'm not quite sure I'm following you, even if a smaller subset was exportable, you would still have to do same job, compare two columns of data, just separately for each Library, so the net result would actually be the same?

yes you are right, it's the same job.
it's just my personal way of working.
I like to finish something and if I need several steps then I like to produce partial results.

Fair enough. 👍
