So my IPTV provider is super reliable ,has exactly what I need in terms of channels and it works well to my region . The only issue is they have blocked m3u support in favour of Xtream login.

Would be awesome if you could include this method for adding IPTV ❤️

HI, I think you can accomplish this using an external tool that can convert it to m3u.

Thanks for the fast reply :) I used to use m3u4u but they have also blocked that and others somehow. Something about the xtream being more secure (but probably actually means it's easier from them to track connections per login  lol ) I see this is a growing trend though

I don't remember the names but I know there are other tools to do the job.

Hi.  You will need to find an external tool to convert to m3u.  We don't have any plans to integrate with that API.

Thanks.

Try m3u4u.com which is an online service that can do this and more for you.
Haven't tried them in a while but another customer was using them for this purpose.

Stumbled across this while trying to test providers with Emby, figured out that the 2 xstream providers I tested support M3U and XMLTV out of the gate.

I just needed to fill in the xtream URL as follows to get the various data:
M3U:   http://<server:port>/get.php?username=<username>&password=<password>&type=m3u_plus&output=ts
XMLTV:   http://<server:port>/xmltv.php?username=<username>&password=<password>

Have a look at IPTVBoss.  I highly recommend it.  It can work with this API and create m3u and xmltv files.

Can you help a noob that doesn't know much about IPTV tech?

It takes your xstream codes links, lets you select the channels you want and order how you like, and puts out m3u and xmltv files that you put into emby's live tv configuration.

Once you get that far, you do this

Awesome this works excellent Thank you. I was making my own m3u files cause my iptv provider only lets us use XC login

I use this for this purpose with no issue.

I use a tool called StreamSweeper to generate a custom m3u from xtream codes and then import that m3u to emby. It works even when the provider blocks access to the m3u. It lets me customize the channels list that I want to see by adding filters to remove all the content I don't want. It's been amazing for my wife who is now able to find the channels she wants because there aren't a massive number of channels that we will never watch appearing in our list.

I would also like to see Xtream API support. I'm not sure how all of this works but I know that the IPTV players I use with Xtream are able to provide pretty decent EPG info...without having to provide an EPG URL or file. When I use players such as Emby that only takes m3u and look for a separate EPG URL or file the quality is very poor.

Perhaps not totally on topic but I fail to see how iptvboss is of any use.

Emby supports everything but xtream codes... seems odd but whatever.

At this point I'd settle for just being able to get rid of live TV.

@KoteZA

I created an open-source application that does what @ebrmentioned.

Also, two things IPTVBoss does beyond Xtream code is

  1. Curate your list of streams to remove the ones you have no use for, and to limit the channels for Emby.  Emby has a practical limit < 1000 (500 maybe?)
  2. Emby considers 2 or more streams that use the same TVG_ID as duplicates and will keep only the first one.  IPTVBoss has a workaround so that for example, you can have ESPN and ESPN-Backup in your guide in Emby.
