Windows Store Theater App - Direct Play AC3 5.1 no longer outputs audio

Hi,

I have two client PCs and a separate PC running Emby server on a LAN (server version 4.5.4.0, theater version 1.1.336.0).

In the last week or so, the two client PCs stopped outputting audio when direct playing AC3 5.1 audio.

I can transcode 7.1 and hear audio, but I would really prefer to direct play 5.1 as my server has a weak cpu and can't keep up to the transcode.

The kicker is 5.1 worked before, and I didn't knowingly change anything server side or client side to cause the problem.

Yes, the volume is turned up. ;) But no audio!

Any ideas as to where I should start looking?

Thanks!

EDIT FOR ADDITIONAL INFO:

I set up a network share and installed VLC, and was able to successfully play the file and AC3 audio track.

So it's just Emby Theater that is not playing the AC3 audio... and because it's happening on two pcs I'm thinking it's a server setting that might have been changed?

Hi there @Elvishefer are you still having an issue with this? Have you configured your windows audio settings?

Yeah I resolved it. Thanks.

What was the solution?

Both pcs were connected to a kvm; a device was plugged into the kvm that switched the sound output devices on both pcs without making a big deal of it.

So as you say, the windows output settings needed to be manually switched back (sometimes connecting and disconnecting to a kvm causes these issues).

Confusing, as I didn't intentionally change anything.

Thanks for your time.
