I go to Configure Emby from the taskbar icon, Emby settings open, but I cannot change anything. The drop down boxes in any settings do not function. I think it has to do with the Emby permissions . Can you please help? I am providing the embyserver.log Thank you embyserver.txt

I cannot even change the preferred display language. I read somewhere in the forum that perhaps Emby does not have permisssion for the C:\Users\Computer Name\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server folder. Could that be the case? I am not familiar with all these things.

Yesterday I did a fresh installation of Windows (10 x64 build 19042.746) in order to solve this issue. After installation was completed and all drivers were installed, I installed Chrome latest version (88.0.4324.104 (Official Build) (64-bit)). After that I installed Emby server and after I chose language and I gave my username and password I tried to build a new library. On the new library screen I chose my movies folder but I cannot choose the content type. The drop down box does not drop. Also when I press the ok button nothing happens. I am sending a screenshot. I tried Edge as well but the same thing happens. I am sending also from Chrome Developer tools, the Console log. localhost-1611380842875.log Edited January 23, 2021 by Apostolos M.
Carlo 4561 Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Hi, Do you have any browser addons that migrated with your username? If so turn them off, restart your browser and try again. Did you install any security software at all besides the built in windows defender?
Apostolos M. 1 Posted January 23, 2021 Author Posted January 23, 2021 No antivirus, no plugins. That's why I did the installation of Emby after I installed Windows, in order to avoid any interferences. I even uninstalled Chrome and used Emby on Edge. Same thing.

If you used latest Egde, it's Chromium based so it would basically be same thing. Try using different-engine browser, for example Firefox (Gecko), so you could possibly narrow it down.

Suddenly it stops working (I watch it on my TV which is connected with my PC through my router) and when I open my library on my PC it is empty. I do not know whayt is going on. Emby has worked without any issue for years. I upload all my logs. In embyserver-63747014271 log I see that there are some file deletions but unfortunately I cannot explain the log. Please somebody provide me with a suggestion. Solution Apostolos M. 1 Posted January 24, 2021 Author Solution Posted January 24, 2021 I found the solution. A piece of hardware was causing the problem. I removed it and now I hope my problems will be solved.

Please ensure the path is valid and the Emby Server process has access to that location" The paths are valid. How can I give Emby Server access to files location? Carlo 4561 Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 What do you mean by "manually"? What did you have backed up and what are you trying to restore? Did you check permissions after restoring to make sure the Emby user running the Server has proper access and permissions are inheritable?
