Adding a user - password confusion.

Hello,

Newbie here.... I have spent hours watching videos and reading forums but I'm missing something here.  What I'm missing is a way not to give out my Emby password when setting up a new user.

They cannot see my server unless they use my email and Emby password  (this is what im doing wrong I think).

Each time I have had to do the following to get them to see my shows:

1) I add a new user to my account (and set all of their restrictions).  I only put a user name in, not their email address yet.   Not until they sign up for your service.

2) They download/install Emby app.

3) They sign up for your service (not premiere) and sign in.

4) I go into their profile on my end, and now add their email address. 

5) Then, on their end, they NEED my email address AND my password to gain access to my shows?  Not the password I setup for them under their user name.  

What am I missing here?  I bet it's something silly.

Hi, you do not give your email or password to any user ever!

From the web UI you go to USER menu and create a new use and set all permissions.

At this point the user can log into your server with the WAN IP shown in the Dashboard using the username and password you setup for the user.

OPTIONAL

You can have the user create an Emby Connect user account.
You then add this to that SPECIFIC USER ACCOUNT (not your admin account) in the optional field. 

They can then login using Emby Connect with their email address.
