Bigmack3000 107 Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 I guess each episode is split into multiple parts? How do I go about naming the files? https://thetvdb.com/series/the-twilight-zone-1985
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 (edited) To me that looks like a DVD order defect on TVDB as that is not possible (that I can see). But this may be something in their use subscription base change in v4 api (just a guess). But I don't know of any metadata manager actually using v4 but don't use many others either. The Twilight Zone (1985) - DVD Order - Season 1 - TheTVDB.com I would expect they would need to be in aired order. The Twilight Zone (1985) - Aired Order - Season 1 - TheTVDB.com Both TVDB and TMDB have them as 59 individual episodes The Twilight Zone: Season 1 (1985) — The Movie Database (TMDb) (themoviedb.org) So if you have them as combine episodes then S01E01-E02, S001E03-E05 and so one as they correspond to what your media is. Bigmack3000 107 Posted January 13, 2021 Author Posted January 13, 2021 I'm not positive, but I think each episode told multiple individual stories. So what they did was split up each episode into each individual story. A similar example is here: https://thetvdb.com/series/basketball-a-love-story/seasons/official/1 But in that case, they didn't repeat any episode numbers. Instead they added "Segment 1/7", "Segment 2/7", etc in the description box. What if I labeled them s01E01a, S01e01b. Would that do anything?

I can not remember if I ever tested this, but that naming can not be matched to anything. I don't believe this is even supported in the ui at all either. There are dozens of topics like this as cartoons do a lot of this also. But there is no good answer for items like this.
Bigmack3000 107 Posted January 13, 2021 Author Posted January 13, 2021 The TMDB episode numbers at least count up sequentially. Is it possible to only use that link for the metadata?

But I guess you could disable TVDB on the library and do Identify on the series to clear and right new data from only TMDB. Then lock the series and reenable TVDB.
DarWun 349 Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 (edited) @Bigmack3000You've shown the DVD order from TVDB. You want to name the episodes as per the Aired Order. I have the 1985 Twilight Zone series in my library. I sequentially named the episodes based on TVDB's Aired Order (i.e. Shatterday is S01E01, A Little Piece and Quiet is S01E02, ... The Last Defender of Camelot is S01E59), and Emby scraped the metadata from TVDB for all episodes correctly. Edited January 16, 2021 by DarWun
