mwaterbury 0 Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 It seems that Emby has changed the default storage location for files downloaded on to a Kindle fire. It used to be that I could point Kodi to the "/emby_downloads/..." folder to access the media that I had downloaded to the server. Went to update the content on the Kid's kindle to find that it was downloading the media but it would not show up in Kodi. Wiped the device of all content just to test and can clearly see download in the Emby app (garbage) but its never appearing in Kodi So here's the question, where has Emby hidden its download location now....
Carlo 4561 Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Hi, keep in mind newer versions of Android now restrict an app from reading files of other apps for security purposes. I don't know if this is your issue or not Android itself is locking down the file system more and more with each release.
Luke 42077 Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 That's correct. Emby is not specifically choosing this folder, it's what Android is assigning it as it's data folder.
