bustychicksftw 1 Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 As of now the emby player when searching for subtitles searches by the file name. This is very inconvenient. There can be a lot of noise in file names. Plex allows the user to modify the search query and so does the external player I use. I find it very strange UI/UX-wise that I cannot do this. 1

bustychicksftw 1 Posted January 10, 2021 Author Posted January 10, 2021 Well it isn't working too well considering I'm able to find the subtitles in mxplayer but not Emby

bustychicksftw 1 Posted January 10, 2021 Author Posted January 10, 2021 So I'm guessing you won't be implementing the feature?
Luke 42079 Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Implementing what feature? We already have information in the database about the media item. Why is that not sufficient to locate subtitles with?
bustychicksftw 1 Posted January 10, 2021 Author Posted January 10, 2021 (edited) Because this doesn't mean they were necessarily implemented properly on OpenSubtitles' website even if they are setup on Emby's end. With a search query based on an editable string, I can. Edited January 10, 2021 by bustychicksftw
Luke 42079 Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Ok i understand. Yes it's always possible for the future. Thanks for the feedback. 1
