SE2forlife 0 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Hi there Im a bit new to the emby world. The system we have is a server running windows home server. At the moment we have a login request on every screen/system. We didn't have a login password, so I created one and chose "Dont require password on local network" I restarted the computer that Emby is installed on, logged in and out. I would appreciate any help in this matter. Many thanks
Abobader 3486 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Hello SE2forlife, Please wait for someone from staff support or our members to reply to you. It's recommended to provide more info, as it explain in this thread: Thank you. Emby Team
Happy2Play 9814 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 (edited) This would suggest that the server does not consider that device as a local. Is the client on a different network then the server? Could you provide a server log. Edited January 9, 2021 by Happy2Play
SE2forlife 0 Posted January 9, 2021 Author Posted January 9, 2021 That would make sense, but the system is hardwired to a switch then to the receiver. The system didn't request this before, nothing has changed from our end as far as im aware. I can see that the log just starts from the 5th? We have 10 screens/ systems that acts the same way, that tells me something is wrong from the source/server? embyserver-63745487995.txt ffmpeg-remux-600f49a2-d0cf-46b0-ba93-608166509486_1.txt embyserver-63745758592.txt hardware_detection-63745758608.txt embyserver-63745574394.txt
Happy2Play 9814 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Looks like you just updated from 4.4.3.0 to 4.5.4.0, correct? Have you made changes on your network as old logs show different network address vs new log?
SE2forlife 0 Posted January 9, 2021 Author Posted January 9, 2021 Yes I did do that, just a desperate attempt to solve it. Didn't do any difference. nope, haven't done any changes. Where do you read this. I have a list from the install, to compare it all. This is installed on a vessel, there is a possibility that something funny has occurred. Maybe a power outage?
Luke 42273 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Hi, in your second screenshot, what Emby app is that?
SE2forlife 0 Posted January 9, 2021 Author Posted January 9, 2021 Crestron type of system, not sure which app precisely.
Luke 42273 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 1 minute ago, SE2forlife said: Crestron type of system, not sure which app precisely. Whatever app that is might be built to always show the login screen. There's not much we can do given it's not built by us, but the setting you checked should still allow you to login on the local network without entering any password, so you can just click submit there. Using official Emby apps though: https://emby.media/download.html You will get the behavior you are seeking.
SE2forlife 0 Posted January 11, 2021 Author Posted January 11, 2021 I managed to go forward with this a bit. It's Kodi that we are running, I found the NUC. When the system was operating, we would just choose source then the Emby server would work perfectly. We never saw Kodi. It's a brand new system and all of a sudden it just stopped working, im not sure what the installment setting were. Please see attached the screen shoots. What I'm I missing?
Carlo 4561 Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 Hi, Change the first option to NOT use Emby connect but a username/password setup on the server itself. Since you're using a NON SSL port (8096) you don't need to check verify the SSL Cert which doesn't exist on your system. See if that helps, Carlo
SE2forlife 0 Posted January 12, 2021 Author Posted January 12, 2021 I did that still the same issue. I can play the movies from the Dashboard through the network, thus the Emby server works. Feels like its Kodi that isnt operating, I cant play the videos that has been uploaded to EMBY through Kodi ?
SE2forlife 0 Posted January 12, 2021 Author Posted January 12, 2021 Im not completely sure, there might be am Emby issue.
