Hello all, here is my problem.

I've installed emby on my small synology nas, and it worked, but due to low memory and small processor, sometimes there where lag issues.

So I decided to install emby on my TS-870 pro (i7 3770 + 16 GB Ram) to have more performance.

But I could'nt find a way to add the network path of the files on my synology.

So here is the path I wanted to add :

Synology file path //192.168.0.5/films/films/

I've tried any solutions I could but it still doesn't work.

folder

\\192.168.0.5  or \\192.168.0.5\films\ or \\192.168.0.5\films\films\

optionnal

\\192.168.0.5\films\films

I can't find a way to fix this issue.

Any help would we welcome :)  (sorry for my aproximative english)

Hi there, I would suggest mounting the network share to a local path using the tools in the QNAP OS, then add the local path into Emby Server. Please see if that helps. Thanks.

Hi Luke,

thx for you answer.

So I mounted the drive on my qnap and now I have access on the movies on the QNAP.

but in emby, the path still doesn't work. no files detected...

This is the path I tried to add

That's not what I suggested. the \\192.XXX path is not a mounted path. That's still the original SMB path. When you mount it on the QNAP, it will be mounted to a local path. Try adding that local path into Emby Server.

I find the solution, I used putty to have access to the linux part of the Qnap, instead of the visual part from my browser.

I found a procedure to mount a drive on linux and after this it worked like a charm :).

Thx a lot.
