quebecman 1 Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 (edited) Hello, I really enjoy the plugin since this saves me lots of hours. Hopefully, I think this great plugin would require some enhancement and bugfix: Bugfix Status: -- For some reason, the STATUS column is not shown in the EXCEL spreadsheet. By example: Ended, Continuing. -- A column season number is empty. I do not really know why this column is there since there is already -- For some obscur reason, genre is empty too. Enhancement: - Be able to export only the selection. (example: genre, season, status, 2014-2017...) - Year released and year ended colum; (this way we could be able to determine how many years in total the serie has) See attached OutputExample.xlsx for what I would like to have such as information, Thanx. Regards. OutputExample.xlsx Edited January 8, 2021 by quebecman 1
Luke 42077 Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Hi there, yes we can certainly look at improving the reports plugins, and these are good suggestions. Thanks for the feedback. 1
quebecman 1 Posted January 13, 2021 Author Posted January 13, 2021 Hello Luke. You guys must probably be really busy but what can be the next step? Maybe this plugin can be for paying users only. Only for this plugin, I would move from the competition and buy it.
Luke 42077 Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 It's always been a free plugin so we're not going to take it away from existing users. We work on it here and there as we're able to, in between major server features of course. The plugin is open source though and contributions are welcome.
quebecman 1 Posted January 23, 2021 Author Posted January 23, 2021 (edited) Hello Luke, Sorry for the delayed response. Ok, like said it would be nice to have some sort of CUSTOM REPORT. This means to be able to CHECK ONLY (with checmarks) the things we would like to see in the report. Example: (tv shows) I would like to export in excel a custom report based on all the checkmarks,. By example: -- Show name; -- Season; -- Year released; -- Year ended if the case; -- If ended, how many years it's been runing; (Right now, it's really not clear the way it's presented. TVDB gives this information. I just want to make shure if it's written 4 seasons that I have all of them. That I don't miss any) -- IMDB Rating and IMDB link; -- Status; (Right now, there is an image that don't appear in the report. Personally, only TEXT is really find with for me. More likely, the report is HUGE when putting some image and unable to sort properly. -- Network; -- Path of the files on your hard drive; (Not only the TV show but espisodes too! So far, it doesn't exist in Emby and sincerly, it's really useful when you have many hard drives and would like to know where it resides) -- Genres; -- To be able to get SEASON and YEARS on the same report. (For now, I need to export the SEASON plus the SHOWS... and to match them afterward... it's a long process and errors can happen) Well, everything that Emby scrapes as the information. The problem right now is that you have to download 2 or 3 reports and do a dynamic EXCEL crossheet because some information is on the SEASON and other on the EPISODES side... It's really hard to follow and I work in excel day long. Edited January 23, 2021 by quebecman

Personally, I think Reports is a great plugin, just geared towards stuff you already have, not what you are missing. To be fair, it does what it's supposed to do (and quite well at that): Reporting - not Tracking.
Insanity_Pants 2 Posted March 22, 2025 Posted March 22, 2025 I think the custom report would be really useful. Currently I have to do a CSV export and then run a simple Python script that removes all columns except the ones I need, which is Name, Year, and Height (to give me an idea if it was a DVD rip, Bluray, etc.), and then export to a text file that I can have on my phone. Basically I want a list of what I own so I don't accidentally buy a duplicate when doing a charity shop buy. But there is one small problem that I have noticed. If I have a movie for which I have several version, say I bought the DVD and then the Blu-ray, and so the folder containing that movie contains several versions, the Reports plugin will pick one seemingly at random. So the Height field may be 576 for that movie even though there is also a 1080 version. This is a bit of a problem for my Use Case as I might see the Blu-ray for sale, look it up on the list, think that I only own the DVD, and buy it not realising that I already own the Bluray. The simplest solution might be to have an option in the plugin to list all versions as separate rows. I suppose I could go to the effort of making my Emby server accessible over the Internet so that I can simply browse the movies list, but I don't really want to do that. 1
