Chiefmas 40 Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 I've been trying out the audiobook functionality recently, and I keep running into odd behaviors, that I can't quite be certain if I'm causing it or there's a bug. A new one I've just noticed, I've had a bunch of battery consumption issues that I think are from Emby. I recently told it to download a single audiobook to my device. Emby recognizes the book, and it's the only file in the folder it's in. However, if I leave Emby running in the background, I've realized I start getting all these other random audiobooks. Many of them are by the same author, but several are not. I've never requested it download any of the others, and I've unchecked the option to keep updating as new content comes in. I download the items each time, and in the download queue I cancel/delete the download, but it seems like they invariably come back and start downloading again. I don't know why this is happening, but, as I mentioned earlier, it's impacting my battery pretty severely, from the constant download I imagine. Any suggestions on how to get this behavior to stop? Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 Hi there, can you please go over an example? Thanks.
Chiefmas 40 Posted January 6, 2021 Author Posted January 6, 2021 Sure, so for example, I told it to sync a single book, Peace Talks by Jim Butcher. It's a single file, in a folder with the name of the book, which is inside an author folder, i.e.: "Audiobooks\Butcher, Jim\The Dresden Files 16.0 - Peace Talks\Jim Butcher - The Dresden Files, Book 16 - Peace Talks-01.mp3" When I told Emby to download it, what I got was that book, plus 3 other items, the forward from another book, and the forward and another book entirely. I have since figured out Emby shows them on the Peace Talks item in the "More from Jim Butcher" area at the bottom of the screen, but I don't know why it would also pull those, as I didn't tell it to. I didn't even go to those items in the UI.
