Adding library path on another server

I have added a second NAS to my Emby server, but I am having problems editing the libraries.  I moved all of my TV to the new NAS, but I can't seem to get the path to work.  Do I need to run Emby server on both NAS?  The path to my original NAS looks like \\Skynet\Skynet\Movies, but when I try \\Jarvis\Jarvis\TV it says it can't find the path.  I have also tried \\192.168.1.28\Jarvis\TV with no luck.  Please help.

Hi, do you want to run two servers? Most likely not.

What NAS? What I would suggest is mounting the windows share to a local share using the tools in the NAS OS. Then you can add the mounted local path into emby server.

I have a Synology 1821+ and a 1019+.  The 1821+ will be movies and the 1019+ will be TV.  I do not want a 2nd server running, just access to both NAS from one server

Meaning inside the NAS I tell it to mount a network folder so that shortcut to NAS2 shows up in the folder list of NAS1 and then use that shortcut when setting up the Emby library?

Yes, sounds right.  You want one NAS to be able to access files from both NAS boxes.  Then Emby running on that NAS has access to files on both.

Thanks.  I didn't realize Emby wouldn't be able to browse outside of the server it runs on.

Emby can use media from anywhere that it is given access to, including sources in the cloud.

Is it possible to browse to those locations or they need to manually be added by IP address?

In a nutshell if you can mount the remote location on the machine and it works like a normal HDD, then Emby can use it.

Another way to think about it is like different drive letters on a Windows machine. If you added two new HDD and gave it a drive letter D:/ and the other Drive letter E:/. You would not install Windows on either the D:/ drive or the E:/ drive.

This is similar to your case in that you will want Emby only running in one place and then mount the new storage where Emby is running so that Emby can access it. That way you have one Emby server and two storage locations. Mounting of drives will be transparent to the user/Emby as they will all be perceived as "local" like in the D:/ and E:/ drive example.
