AndrewLe 3 Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 I have video streams from the multiple sources, some of them (cctv) require no delays - therefore no buffering. How to configure Emby to apply different buffering settings per channel?
ebr 16184 Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Hi. What do you mean by "buffering settings"?
AndrewLe 3 Posted December 31, 2020 Author Posted December 31, 2020 (edited) I have the following setup: Camera -> DVR -> Emby Server -> Emby for Android TV. No transcoding happens. The delay between the real action and TV picture is about 3-4 seconds. That is a very bad situation for the CCTV. VLC has no delay on the same stream. So I guess that Emby is buffering few seconds before it starts playing. Also I have other channels (from satellite receiver). These streams don't need buffering (I have the fast network) but they can be buffered with no issues. For example, I can provide some information in XmlTV file or in the lineup.json to mark the channels that requires no buffering, or it can be the per channel settings in Emby server UI etc. Edited December 31, 2020 by AndrewLe
Carlo 4561 Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 In order to share streams via Emby there has to be a small amount of "buffering" taking place and you can't turn this off when going through Live TV. Have you tried the IPTV Plugin? This may/may not be better for camera use and worth a test run. This is what I use.
