Media Release dates

Hello everyone,
To begin with, I wish everyone a safe New Year's Eve and a healthy 2021.

My question: I wonder if I can conjure up in my media libraries the release dates of the different media (Movies / Series episodes) on the client apps / web browser.

I have seen that you can enter this in the media libraries but it does not appear on the clients?

Hi, yes we do generally display this on the main detail screen for the item. You may not see it in the media lists though. Does that answer your question?

All I see with an item in the client apps is "added: ../../ ..", which is very different from the "release date".

Is it not possible to extend the year shown in the main screen to the exact date of release (dd / mm / yyyy)?  And also keep track of the addition date of the item?

Possible, yes, but it's just not something you typically see in Movie apps, so that's why we don't have it on the movie detail screen.

I know PLEX gives the exact release date, this is especially interesting for the newly released movies (example: EMBY says "We Can Be Heroes"), an exact release date says more about how new the movie is than just the year.

If you're just interested in how new the movie is, try changing the sorting of your list by 'Release Date' then
