itgreen9 9 Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Hello, I have been having an issue where the Emby server crashes for no apparent reason. I have not been able to get through a whole movie in weeks. I have attached my log. Can someone tell me what is happening? embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-01b5ea47-fc72-422b-92c3-b9b1f62d0a6c_1.txt ffmpeg-directstream-0db2426f-aeb8-4c06-b289-bf42c58622d5_1.txt
Luke 42083 Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Hi, what exactly do you mean by crashes?
itgreen9 9 Posted December 30, 2020 Author Posted December 30, 2020 I am watching something and then it just stops and goes to my Roku home screen. Does this on different Roku units and Firesticks.
Luke 42083 Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Can you try updating to Emby Server 4.5.4?
itgreen9 9 Posted December 31, 2020 Author Posted December 31, 2020 Still happening. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-99d7c29c-4da9-4d2c-a744-270cddadc249_1.txt
Aevaris 8 Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 Unsure on if this is related to your issue, but I suspect so, but I see a lot of errors in your server logs that appear that you have a networking issue. There are 486 occurrences in the 2 hours and 45 minutes duration of this log file of: System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (10061): No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. at System.Net.Http.ConnectHelper.ConnectAsync(String host, Int32 port, CancellationToken cancellationToken)
itgreen9 9 Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 So is there a resolution for them? My network is set up properly and everything is working.
itgreen9 9 Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 Ok so the only thing I am find on this error (that I understand) is these are the 3 things that cause it. There is a firewall in the way, -- I have the embyserver allowed, is there something else that needs to be? the remote smtp server is blocking your incoming requests, or -- this is not email so it doesn't pertain, correct? Something is blocking your outgoing port 25 requests. -- again email or remote access. Doesn't have anything to do with my issue.
Aevaris 8 Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 (edited) I doubt this an SMTP problem. SMTP is usually going to be stuff like email, text messages, etc. The response time throughout your logs is really long and only gets longer. I suspect this is either a router problem or firewall/antivirus on your client devices. What does your network setup look like? Is it the simple modem -> router -> internal network (server and client device(s))? Or do you have a more complex network? Edited January 3, 2021 by Aevaris
itgreen9 9 Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 Simple network, modem and router are one unit then the internal network.
Carlo 4561 Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 (edited) Hi, If you see the whole URL in the log, you can try and open it in a web browser on the server machine to see if it will connect via the browser. Does this work? Edited January 3, 2021 by cayars
itgreen9 9 Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 Not sure what URL I am supposed to be looking for. I need more information. The link you sent me is to a library of information. Without knowing where the problem lies I have no idea what I am looking for. As far as I know everything is connected correctly and Emby is allowed through the firewall.
Carlo 4561 Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 If looking at your log you'll see an error when connecting to a 3rd party. Right around that error would be a URL.
itgreen9 9 Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 Ok so under that error I do not see a url, I do see the program NextPVR which is not on my computer. I removed it awhile back. I have removed the plugin from Emby and searched and deleted any residual files from that application (I hope). Will see what happens. Thanks. 1
itgreen9 9 Posted January 7, 2021 Author Posted January 7, 2021 Looks as if that has resolved my issue. Thank you for your help. 1
