AndrewLe 3 Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Using the latest versions of the Android Auto and Emby (Android 10) I have few issues with the Emby in car: Minor - it has no fading / crossfade while switching tracks. Minor - despite of "Automatically resume media" switch in the Android Auto settings, it doesn't start playing music Major - Emby doesn't stop playing after the exit from Android Auto Major - Emby doesn't save what was played on the next run. So I start the car and I have to select the album once again. Critical - from time to time, if I click on Emby (in Android Auto) it shows the message that it can't run (instead of the regular item with network icon and EMBY string)

AndrewLe 3 Posted December 30, 2020 Author Posted December 30, 2020 (edited) Let me add the use case. I get in the car, connect the phone and start the car Android Auto has started, shown the map and started music - automatically I choose the destination and start driving On arrival, I've turned off the car and took the phone Player saves the current position and stopped, Android Auto stopped So I'm living the car with the phone that is in the same state as it was in the very beginning This case is very well supported by PowerAmp player (but it lacks sync feature, it could be partially solved using FlderSync, but favourites and ratings can't be synced this way etc.) Edited December 30, 2020 by AndrewLe
ebr 16169 Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Exiting Android Auto and exiting the car (i.e. breaking the connection to the external device) are two different things. If you're in your car and just shut down Android Auto then I can see the app continuing on outside of Android Auto. If you turn off the car (breaking the external connection) then the app should stop playing. That's what every other music app does but this is related to the BT/external connection, not Android Auto per se (same thing would happen if you were just using BT).
