humptythe2nd 1 Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 (edited) Hey guys, First, I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! My friend just told me that Emby grabbed a Christmas wallpaper from his phone's gallery and added it as a wallpaper in the app. He's using Emby in Chrome on Android 7.0 and not through the android app. Turning off the seasonal theme disables the wallpaper. How is Emby able to access the phone's gallery and know which "holiday" picture to grab? Thanks! Edit: I'm using Emby on Cloudron (Ubuntu 18.04) and I'm not subscribed to Emby Premiere. ebr 16199 Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Hi. Are you sure our default theme background didn't just closely match something he had as well? Exactly what was the image?
humptythe2nd 1 Posted December 26, 2020 Author Posted December 26, 2020 I got them to send me the two wallpapers they have. They're unsure which one it was as it removed itself after Christmas was over. The seasonal theme is ticked on but it's not showing up anymore. Was Emby coincidentally using the same wallpaper as the ones I attached? That would be hilarious
ebr 16199 Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Well, but it is similar in that it has ornaments on the bottom. It is also faded out so much that it could be hard to tell...
humptythe2nd 1 Posted December 26, 2020 Author Posted December 26, 2020 I wish I had a screenshot of Emby of when that happened but there's a time difference between us and they're not really tech savvy so that chance got away until the next seasonal wallpaper is activated. I'm guessing New Years?
Carlo 4561 Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 It's a very similar backdrop but not the same. It's using an Emby provided image and not from the users' device/computer.
