mholin 23 Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Hi guys today I would like to report this issue, what I was facing quiete a long time now. I found, that movies in my collection, with are encoded as 1080p would be listed as 720p type on the client, when I try to adjust playback-bitrate. I give you two examples: "Angry Silence" encoded 1800x1080. Playback bit rate can only be changed with 720 value. Both on Browser and Android app. "Murder by Contract" encoded 1408x1080. same it looks like, playback values are not set by vertical value 1080 but by horizontal 1800 or 1408, which is lower than 1920. can this be checked and corrected? It affects almost every 4:3 movies. bye Michael
mholin 23 Posted December 28, 2020 Author Posted December 28, 2020 Only my problem? Does nobody else see this issue? Greetings Michael
Carlo 4561 Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 (edited) Hi, Do you have similar files with higher bitrates? If so what choices do you get for them? Edited December 28, 2020 by cayars
mholin 23 Posted December 29, 2020 Author Posted December 29, 2020 (edited) I do not believe this is an issue of bitrate. Here is my version of 1968 'Deadfall" All my movies with horizontal pixel between I guess 1280 - 1800 are tagged as 720p movie during playback. This really does affect all my 4:3 and 5:3 movies. Nobody else with this issue here? strange Edited December 29, 2020 by mholin
pwhodges 2012 Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 (edited) I can confirm that when playing a 4:3 movie at 1080 resolution, the quality selection options all say 720. However, when I selected one the stats for nerds still showed the displayed video as being 1480x1080 (in my case). So I suspect it's just a display oddity which doesn't affect the actual processing. Carlo 4561 Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Thanks Paul. @mholin Can you confirm the same thing using stats for nerds?
mholin 23 Posted December 30, 2020 Author Posted December 30, 2020 I did a further analysis on the 'Deadfall' movie. During playback, I only see bitrate options to set with max 720p 10 mbit. I choosed 720p 10 mbit. Carlo 4561 Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Did you take a look at the video in Stats for Nerds as well? That should also confirm the resolution being played which might be easier than looking at logs.
