Depends on your structure on what exists within said structure.  But ideally the highest level possible as Emby will attempt to dig through the nested folders.

Thank u very much man I think I understand at last :)

One more thing, can I connect my emby server from the android app outside from my home network or this feature available only on the paid version?

No remote connection is not a premiere feature.  The Android app itself is though.

Hi there, I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter:

https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001849007-connectivity

Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. Thanks.

Hi. In internal connections there is no problem at all.

The problem is when I try to connect with external network, like mt android device.

The external address not open at all in the browser (even in home network, but it says this is fine).

I tried to set port forwarding but it didn't help either. I have mesh wifi and the main unit connects directly to my isp modem if it helps.

I tried to verify public port in  https://canyouseeme.org/ , but the ip address in this site is different from the ip on my emby server.

I'm really frustrated...

If that is the case there is no way to route to your server.  First we need to know why you see two different external addresses.

What kind of router do you have?

from a command prompt can you run a trace route to something on the internet such as 8.8.8.8?

On windows this would be "tracert 8.8.8.8"

What we want to see is if the 2nd, 3rd or 4th listings use any addresses starting with 10. or 176.

If so that's almost a guarantee you are behind a CGNAT (carrier grade NAT) or shared IP pool and won't be able to route in through it.

Can you let us know if you see anything like this in your trace route?

I open cmd and type "tracert 8.8.8.8", am I right?

the 2nd starting with 192.

the 3rd starting with 10.

the 4th is "Request timed out".

the 5th starting with 172.

OK thanks for doing that.  The fact the 3rd set of routes uses 10.x.x.x range is almost a guarantee you are behind a CGNAT or carrier grade Network Address Translation or sharing of public IPs.  It's basically the same thing as what allows your router to use 1 public address for all your internal devices and machine.

But since the 10.x range of IP addresses are not publically routable that means YOU have ZERO control over inward bound routing.

What you need to do is contact your ISP to get a static IP that is routable.  This usually has a cost of $5 to $10  per month, sometimes free for those who ask but every ISP handles this differently.  Once you have a public IP you can setup Emby to work remotely.

Thanks, I'll check with the isp :)
