Hi.

I'm starting using Emby but there is something weird.

Some of the libraries uploaded normally , but some not upload at all.

For instence, I want to upload the Harley Quinn Animated Series, the upload complete but there is no episodes files.

In some cases the episodes appears in the "episodes" or "folder" section but I want them to appear like it should be, right away when entering the library.

How can I solve this?

Thank U :)

HI there, how did you setup your library in emby library setup? How are your files named and organized?

Posted

Hi,

The file name is something like that  Harley.Quinn.S01E01.Til.Death.Do.Us.Part.1080p.DCU.WEB-DL.DD5.1.H264-NTb

but with other tv shows some of the episodes uploaded fine and some not showen at all, even if the files name the same

But what is the entire folder structure?

Emby currently requires all episodes to be in a parent series folder.

Emby TV Naming : Emby

it's TV Shows\Cartoons\Harley Quinn - The Animated Series (2019-2020)\Season 1

and TV Shows\Cartoons\Harley Quinn - The Animated Series (2019-2020)\Season 2

I tested adding this without issue mostly.  Is this the Harley Quinn series?  If so folder above makes it unidentifiable and has to be manually identified.

Thanks, but how I make it correct?

I can't put the series id before the upload finishing and it creates me more folders than I have.

fail safe way is Serie folder with a providerid

ID Tags in Folder
Emby can also read a Meta-Data ID from the name.

Format:

Name (Year) [tmdbid=xxxx]
Example:

Alone (2020) [tmdbid=509635]
Emby supports the following tags with the host website for lookup.

tmdbid (https://www.themoviedb.org/)

imdbid (https://www.imdb.com/)

tvdbid (https://thetvdb.com/)

I don't know. The data is now correct but still have 2 unnecessary folders.

There is an option to hide folder and restore the meta-data to default?

Also, In other tv show I made a mistake with the meta-data and I want to restore it to the original since before my change it was much more accurate.

Sorry for the headache...

There is no restore, you should be able to just Identify at Series level again and identify it as whatever you like. Or possibly Refresh metadata replacing what you have.

Are you referring to "Band of Brothers" and "Designated Survivor"? If so that would mean those exist in the set library folder path.

Yes. I checked and you right, there are two hidden folders, but those folders content torrents files only and nothing to do with "Band of Brothers" and "Designated Survivor"

I thought emby grab only media files.

Anyway, I removed them.

Now I try to add more library of certain anime and again the episodes not appears on emby server.

You want to make sure your libraries are clean and following the naming convention Happy2Play linked you to above.

Having other folders in the mounted path like "Cartoons" isn't ideal.

You want something like /TV Shows/Show Name (Year)/Season #/filename - S0XE0X.ext

You can also tell Emby upfront what to match the show to using the ID in the folder as Happy2Play mentioned.

Even if the folder contains only the video file it not showing up in the server.
The path is "TV Shows\Anime\Gurren Lagan" and that's it
the file name like this: "Tengen_Toppa_Gurren_Lagann_EP01_(H264_1080p_-_AAC), and I tried to rename it but it doesn't work either.
Everything I want to add not appears on the server
.

Yes, but I can't do it before the upload finish. Or can I? how exactly?

It should show up but only in folder view or episode view (unidentified).

But I had no issue adding

TV Shows\Anime\Gurren Lagan\Tengen_Toppa_Gurren_Lagann_EP01_(H264_1080p_-_AAC).ext

That is because TV Shows\Anime\Gurren Lagan is not a Library it is a Series.  You can not point to series folders.  You would need to point to  TV Shows\Anime or  TV Shows\

But will need to know paths of other libraries.

WOW really it worked! That's was the problem? So I need to point the "main\root" folder instead of the folder of the anime itself (in this case Gurren Laggan?)

Because in movies even if I point on certain movie it works fine. So it's different with tv series?

Also there appears to be changes in 4.6+ as season level was identified vs not in 4.5.4.

Yes as there are multiple layers for a show vs a movie.

Depends on your structure on what exists within said structure.  But ideally the highest level possible as Emby will attempt to dig through the nested folders.
