gillmacca01 211 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Don't think this is an Emby problem, as I can't find any posts about it, but hope you can help. I have quite a few different actors/directors where the accent is not displayed correctly. Example: Félix Enríquez Alcalá is appearing as Flix Enrquez Alcal Anyone know how to fix this (apart from going through every actor/director and correcting them)
Happy2Play 9780 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Not displayed correctly where? Can you show specific examples and what client/apps.
gillmacca01 211 Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 It is appearing in all clients I use, and It appears in the nfo file - I understand that it is displaying what is in the nfo file, but I don't know why it has been imported in that format
Happy2Play 9780 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Not sure what level it comes from but I corrected it directly on the Person title name. But this is the only person I have seen with this accent issue. May be specific to Director as I do not see any issues with Actors.
gillmacca01 211 Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 I am seeing it with any directors/actors that have accents
Happy2Play 9780 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Unless there are other variables someone else will have to comment.
Luke 42078 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Do you have any metadata files in your media folders?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 OT: Another night mare is TVDB has same person with and without accents assigned to different media. Félix Enríquez Alcalá - TheTVDB.com Felix Enriquez Alcala - TheTVDB.com Open a ticket with them.

Quote NAME posted 12/19/20 3:36 PM Don't know the rule but one person is two different people do to spelling with and without accents.. So technically all media should be assigned to one person. Sort of a grey area when you look at spelling like this. Félix Enríquez Alcalá - TheTVDB.com Felix Enriquez Alcala - TheTVDB.com IMDB shows accented. Félix Enríquez Alcalá - IMDb Created by NAME 12/19/20 3:36 PM Evan_ posted 12/19/20 3:50 PM Hi, There is no rule at this level. This is the name as he writes himself if there is an accent in, it must appear. I merged everything in the entry with the accents. OT: I am sure I just corrupted a lot of old fetched data with this but all data has been merged into one person now. 24hr before edited data propagates. Still testing this. Happy2Play 9780 Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Testing this on a clean install in stable and beta on this specific episode, with providers as TMDB then TVDB do to TVDB having name without accents until data propagates, I do not get the results shown above. Clean install so person never existed in database. here is the nfo Emby created Spoiler <episodedetails> <plot>Jesse and Walt discuss expanding into new territories; Hank struggles to fit in; Skyler pursues a new job opportunity; Jesse gets to know his landlord.</plot> <outline /> <lockdata>false</lockdata> <dateadded>2020-12-19 14:15:29</dateadded>
Negro y Azul
<director>Félix Enríquez Alcalá</director> <rating>8</rating> <year>2009</year> <imdbid>tt1232254</imdbid> <tvdbid>438918</tvdbid> <actor>
<role>Walter White</role> <type>Actor</type> </actor> <actor>
<role>Jesse Pinkman</role> <type>Actor</type> </actor> <actor>
<role>Skyler White</role> <type>Actor</type> </actor> <actor>
<role>Hank Schrader</role> <type>Actor</type> </actor> <actor>
<role>Marie Schrader</role> <type>Actor</type> </actor> <actor>
<role>Walter White Jr.</role> <type>Actor</type> </actor> <actor>
<role>Jane Margolis</role> <type>GuestStar</type> </actor> <actor>
J.D. But I don't believe this is a new issue as I see this a lot at episode level. One other actor was not fetched also "Rio Alexander". So it is a little quirky as only 2 of 15 were not fetched. First 6 are gotten at Serie level.

Luke 42078 Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Try deleting one and then refreshing metadata on it.
gillmacca01 211 Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 It's appearing correct now. Weird. Still don't understand why it was originally imported wrong
Luke 42078 Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Yea I haven't seen that before either. Thanks for the feedback.
