oldtimer 0 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Hey, I noticed today an unusual CPU usage on my Emby-server and low playback, upon inspection I noticed that ffmpeg was the culprit. I thought this weird since I have subscription and I even updated my hw a couple of years ago just so that I could decode HEVC. And the decoding did work previously. Today when watching new film it did not work anymore. I also tested the videos that have worked previously, hw decoding on those fail as well. The error is clear in the ffmpeg log, but the reason is unclear. Does anyone know what could cause this. hardware_detection-63744012512.txt ffmpeg-transcode-177dede3-daf3-48f0-a5a5-4c5344751593_1.txt embyserver.txt

Luke 42079 Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 Hi, have you followed our hardware acceleration setup guide? https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001160148-hardware-acceleration-overview
oldtimer 0 Posted February 4, 2021 Author Posted February 4, 2021 Hey, sorry I completly forgot to answer. Yes I did follow the guide, though since Im using Intel VA-API there shouldn't much to do. I did managed to get hadware acceleration to work though, not sure how. Reinstalled multiple packages, and it just started to work at some point.
