Videos are not marked played or as playing if they are cast to DLNA like Rygel or Kodi

I have been testing casting to DLNA servers so I setup both Rygel and Kodi. While casting seems to work well, the rest is not much so. I encountered couple issues.

 

Common

- The watched or played status is not marked at all  once the videos are  done playing there.

- Watch progress is not recorded so they d onot show up in the front page as keep watching

 

Rygel

- No player control is possible it seems.

 

Kodi

- Stopping or pausing then starting another video freezes Kodi, not sure if this is a Kodi issue or some DLNA playback issue.

 

VLC

- Audio is not synced with the video

 

Server: Debian Testing, Linux Docker

Clients: Android, Linux Firefox

DLNA: Linux Debian Testing

 

 

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a DLNA server (such as those) properly with Emby and have these nice to haves also?

Hi, yes regarding the watch state, we are looking into improving this. Thanks for the feedback.

 

Regarding freezing Kodi, what version of Emby Server and Kodi are you using?
