I have been playing aroudn with Emby the last couple weeks and love it, Works great in my home for live tv/dvr. But im not able to access it outside my network, I have added the Port to forward. Not using SSL, But still no luck.

My server is hardwired from my switch panel that's plugged into my cogeco ARRIS router. The network also has a unfi access point working out in my garage as just a wifi repeater if that helps.

Hi,

If you go to https://www.canyouseeme.org/ does this give you the same IP address as what Emby Shows?

If you run that test with 8096 for the port does it show it not open?

@cayars It gives me the IP address but the port says its not open

If you like I can do a remote session with you and take a look at your settings/setup and see if I see anything.

If you want to do this download and install Teamviewer from www.teamviewer.com then send me via PM the ID and one-time use passcode you get on startup.

Stupid Arris modem that didn't allow port forwarding to work even though it was setup correctly because of other firewall blocking settings the took priority over port forwarding.  Kind of have the wrong order of processing for those options.  But regardless, we got it fixed, open and working for remote use.

Well, firewall always have the highest priority in any OS :)

I make this as resolved.

Problem is you want things like IDS protection, DOS protection but want exceptions to allow specific ports through the router not bound by other settings.  This modem applies things backwards from other modems.

The OP might like to remove his external IP from the images.
