Multi-version split file movies ... how to handle?

Following the movie naming guide: Emby Movie Naming : Emby

I've tried every combination of adding the descriptor for multiple versions as well as having split files.  Emby doesn't seem to handle any of them correctly - if there's a split file, it won't recognize it as a version if it picked up a single file version first, and if it picks up the split file version first, it won't every pick up any other versions.

Is there a way to handle this use case?  Other than just having the movie not continue gracefully and requiring a manual restart between parts 1 and 2?

Use case: these are massive movies (160 GB between the two files), but there are also multiple versions of said movie.
