lqpartyrock 2 Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 I'm having trouble displaying primary poster for a lot of my movies. If I manually click edit and download a new primary image it works. Some primary images are showing the backdrop image weirdly scaled or or missing the image metadata, but everything else such as description show fine. I've attached a couple screenshots. First one shows the wrong primary image, second is the edit screen, 3rd is search, 4th is more of the same issue showing for other movies. A refresh of metadata doesnt work, rescanning the library doesnt work. This is prevalent on a lot of older movies as apart of my initial scan. This rarely happens when adding new movies, but it does happen on occasion. I manually fix the new ones and some of the old ones I catch, but there are thousands like this. Any ideas?

Luke 42081 Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 Hi there, what are the contents of your batman forever folder?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 (edited) I guess the first question is why your existing Poster/Folder image is a Backdrop and not Poster? On item details the placeholder expects a 3:2 image not 16:9. 6 minutes ago, lqpartyrock said: A refresh of metadata doesnt work Did you select replace images also? As you have a issue with your current images being wrong. Edited December 15, 2020 by Happy2Play

That what im trying to find out. lol. I rarely happens on new things. Just the older stuff on the initial scan. 2. Yes. checked replace all images. No change
Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 I would assume this as the tbn should be named -thumb. episodename.tbn thumbnails - General/Windows - Emby Community
lqpartyrock 2 Posted December 15, 2020 Author Posted December 15, 2020 I'm not even sure where the .tbn are coming from. Quick skim of a few other messed up files, all have .tbn and .jpg in the folder? Would manually have to go in and delete all of these?

These are your image files and Emby Server is using them. If you don't want that to happen, then yes I would delete them and run a library scan.
lqpartyrock 2 Posted December 15, 2020 Author Posted December 15, 2020 I went through and removed all the .tbn files and refreshed the library. Looking a lot better. Still confirming this was the fix, but so far so good. 1
lqpartyrock 2 Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 I guess I was wrong. Still happening on some movies. Removed .tbn and .jpg files from the folder. Some titles still show the wrong primary. All the other Metadata is there.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 What is that "Juno (2007) 480p.jpg" shown in the folder? My guess is it is the image shown as the poster. Per the KB image naming "Juno (2007) 480p.jpg" is a Primary image. Image Type Supported file names Primary {name}.ext {name}-poster.ext {name}-cover.ext {name}-default.ext {name}-movie.ext folder.ext poster.ext cover.ext default.ext movie.ext

Looks like it's choosing those as the default. Caching seems to be an issue, as i've checked now and the correct juno poster is displayed. 1
