Stuza 2 Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Hey guys! I have a tower PC for home use and a laptop for travel. I've installed and been using Emby on both very happily for some months now. Both have different netbios/dns names but the same user (both Windows and Emby) is defined on each. I have a significant library and with that comes significant Emby program folder of 2gb but, more importantly 93,000 files and any time i try to copy & move this to my laptop for on-the-road server use, it takes ages to copy. I'm talking about just the Emby-server directory here, not my actual media which is located on a portable 50tb store. I've done some googling and it seems that I should load "Emby Backup" plugin but, i'm not finding it. Indeed, i'm probably being a moron here but, I can't even find a way to search the plug-ins apart from scrolling. I have found Server Configuration Backup but that only seems to backup a couple of small text files so, not sure that's going to copy across my user watched status? Is there any way to copy a database(?) or something that allows me to quickly copy across the watched status for my user rather than copying across the entire Emby program directory? Thanks!
ebr 16195 Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Hi. The Server Configuration Backup plugin is what you are looking for. It has the option to backup and restore user data (watched status, resume, favorites, etc.).
Stuza 2 Posted December 14, 2020 Author Posted December 14, 2020 Thanks Ebr. All I'm seeing with that is the ability to set a schedule. I can then see three text files in the output directory and that's it. I don't see any options other than schedule and output directory. What am I missing?
Luke 42085 Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Hi, it's when you restore that you have options on what to restore.

So the mouse cursor above these shows as a character insert, kinda like a capital "I" in some fonts and didn't change back to a normal mouse icon (similar as if you are selecting text by dragging) so I didn't realize you could click it! If you move the mouse over the trash icon you'll see the mouse icon change back to an arrow. Not sure if that makes sense? Anyway, very odd mouse behaviour... Now I know about this, this does indeed appear to do what I need. Thank you very much for your help!! 1
