Tezza4x4 1 Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 (edited) I decided to try and enable camera uploads over the weekend. Running latest Emby server 4.3.5.0 for Synology. There was always a Camera Upload media item on my main window pointing to somewhere like /var/packages/emby (can't quite recall). Anyway, after I enabled camera upload on a device, I got the multiple library problem that I saw in another post and it created 4 additional library items all pointing to /volume1/Emby/data/camerauploads (ie under the Emby user directory instead of under /var). All the uploaded files appeared under /volume1/Emby/data/camerauploads. So I deleted the library pointing under /var, and it dutifully disappeared. Leaving the other 4. Then I deleted just one of the libraries pointing under the Emby user. All 4 disappeared. So then I went in and manually recreated it, and happy days, now I have a single camera upload library. The issue now is that my photos are all over the place and seem to be in no particular order. Some have years under them, some do not, but even the ones with years are not in any sort of order. Is there a way to get the photos to display in (original) date created order? Edited December 14, 2020 by Tezza4x4
Tezza4x4 1 Posted December 14, 2020 Author Posted December 14, 2020 Seems to be using some strange logic to set the year of the photo. In a lot of cases it is using the filename. eg IMG_1916.jpg gets tagged as 1916.
Luke 42080 Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 Hi, the year of the photo comes from embedded metadata, not the filename.
Tezza4x4 1 Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 Pretty sure I didn't take any photos in 1916. It's not reading the metadata reliably or at all on many of the photos, and I do have quite a few examples where it has used the filename,

It's quite possible the camera or some editing software isn't configured correctly and marking things wrong.
Luke 42080 Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 The embedded metadata of the file is where we get the year from for photos.
