Emby Android app on ChromeOS

Greetings,

I am encountering an issue when attempting to watch TV via an HDHomeRun through the Emby Android app on my Pixelbook Go.

1. The problem: When I attempt to open a TV stream, the Emby window disappears, but I can hear the audio playing in the background. At this point, the only way to close the app is to open up Chrome's task manager and force close that way. Also, while the audio is playing my laptop is acting generally "wonky" - in some cases, I can continue to use the touchscreen normally, but for certain apps (maybe other Android apps?) it doesn't seem to be responsive. Also, the mouse cursor will go behind the apps that I cannot use, rather than appear in the foreground.

2. I have attached an app log file that I hope captures the error occurring.

3. I'm using Emby Server 4.5.3, and Emby App version 3.1.69 for Android.

4. As I mentioned in the post title, I am running the Emby App on a Pixelbook Go Chromebook. I am running the latest stable version of ChromeOS (87). Note that this error does NOT occur in the app when running on Android, so the issue seems to be related to running in the ChromeOS environment.

Hi there, are you still seeing this with the 3.1.71 app update?

Thanks for the reply. I'm still experiencing the issue.

Ok, please try 3.1.72 once available. Thanks.

Just to say exactly the same problem here on a Lenovo Duet Chromebook with Emby app V3.73 Would be great if the Android app could be made to work. I also tried the Android TV app, but this wont load the home page (keeps stopping).

The web interface works, but the playback unfortunately stutters every 5 seconds or so.

Unfortunately, its generally necessary to restart the chromebook in order to get it stable again after trying the Emby app

Have you tried the 3.1.73 update?

Yes. I just tried on 3.1.73 and the issue persists.

I have a small update about this issue. I think the issue seems to be limited, or at least more prevalent, when the TV stream is in standard definition. HD streams, at least the broadcast streams I'm viewing, seem to work.

That's helpful, thanks for the info.
