ShieldTV 2019: always transcoding dvdsub and vobsub?

Since some days I own a ShieldTV and I am a bit frustrated with emby. Before I used an FireTV, MiBox, AppleTV4k. None of those devices had issues with those subtitle formats. Whats wrong with ShieldTV?

Is it normal that emby on the ShieldTV transcodes dvdsub and vobsub subtitles? Should I try with Kodi instead?

Hi, if you want to install this on the Shield, then it will direct play:

So this is a beta release? Do I have to uninstall the play store version first?

OK. I tested. Subtitles work without transcoding

3 bugs I found so far:

1. The navigation is a bit buggy. Often when you press a direction key (up, down...) it jumps 2 times instead of 1.

2. When stopping a movie the frame rate does not switch back to the default framerate of the gui. (it stays at 24 frames)

3. On the start screen there is a visual glitch: On the row "latest movies" the poster of the first movie overtops the letters of "latest movies".
