Customizable sections on Home Screen

I was trying to find a way to add a custom selection from my movie library as a Home Screen section and did not find a way. For example: I would like a section with all movies that shows all movies tagged as "Kids Movies", are based on a certain parental rating, are sorted by release date, etc.

So my feature request is to be able to add additional Home Screen sections of existing libraries which have specific filter and sorting options applied.

Hi, not currently beyond the home screen settings that we already have, but I think you'll be able to accomplish this in the future with smart views/playlists once we have that.

Not sure if this would help you but I have something similar setup for Holiday movies. All I dont was create a new library with all movie folders in it, then I setup a filter for specific tag for that specific library.

Just note that this is does not work across all platforms and has to be setup on each client.

I would also like to see this feature come to life in the near future, would come in very handy for people that have large libraries

The possibility to add sections to the home screen, as well as sorting the entries (as fpund in a different request), is a must nowadays I believe... the flexibility to customize the interface.

Are there any news on this request, 4 years later, please?

Hi. Some home page adjustments are possible for web browsers and custom CSS.  I've added several options in my State Street Theater Theme.  If you want to try it out, make sure to scoll all the way down the posts to find the latest version.

There is a mention of upcoming features for the theme for the next, end of May, release which will include text color, background, borders for each row area.  There is already a size control for just the My Media row as well as having a home page background. The next release will have a promo image above the top row that can animate and fade away after some amount of seconds, which can be controlled by the user.

It's hardly a full collection of controls for everything you probably want.  That would need a feature release.  By the way, the sort order for all the library lists can be controlled with changing the add date.  It's not an click one time and everything sorts, but usually there are only 16 or some posters per row.  It doesn't take very long to get rid of a lot of them and reorder what is left.

Hi @visproduction, thank you for sharing your template. I will give it a go and come back with feedback. Indeed, a feature release would be great as, I assume, it will be available on all environments and not just the web browser.
