First off let me say this is an awesome skin, you have done an excellent job on this.

 

The ItemInfo dialog has some extra functionality that allows marking things as watched or favourite, it also has some custom backgrounds options and can show more info about streams.

Also if you want to add something to this dialog like new info or info that only MBS has you can as it is completely custom.

 

Also it would be great if you added support for the new Search Dialog, this new interactive search dialog allows for a better search experience and should be relatively easy to add.

 

Final thing, how do I get access to favourites, not MBS favorites but local favourites?

 

Also I noticed that in the latest beta on Kodi that the list view when I select an item the actual name disappears, the second line is shown but the name of the item in the selected list item disappears.

Thanks for this additional info. I didn't realize there was that mush more to the info dialog, I just knew I liked seeing it come up when set in the addon. [emoji1]

 

Since Titan is still my favorite skin (especially with the speed improvements which are VERY noticeable btw) I would love this additional implementation to it.

 

I wish I knew more about all this stuff and I could help you implement it Marcel - you do so much awesome stuff with this skin and you're so quick and responsive to all of our requests you must be super busy! I really appreciate everything you do!

On helix I go back and forth between Titan and xf. All of you really doing a great job. Just amazing to see all the progress this year. For my "needs-to-work-greater-than-90%-of-the-time" setup I run Titan. It's the easiest for the wife and other living room visitors to navigate.

 

Never commented on it before but the skin menus took a long time to build. I didn't know other skins that used the particular one you incorporated to compare and they were plenty flexible plus I didn't build the menus that often. Great improvement on speed for rebuilding home in the latest though Marcel

Hi, nice skin. I try now since a few days but i have some problems here. First the skin seems extremely laggy on my i3 Nuc!

Sometimes the pics on the tiles of movie and series are missing in home menu. Then often i have double tiles like movies, all movies and series and all series.

The biggest problem for me is that the submenu in the classic theme only appears when i set it to automatic. Is there no way to have the submenu on click the ok button.

But nice work at all, hope there are solutions for my little problems.

Hi,

For native Kodi libraries the pictures on the tiles (rotating artwork) are delivered by the grab.fanart addon and if you're using MediaBrowser mode, they're delivered by the xbmb3c addon.

If the pics are somethimes missing it's because they're still beiing pulled from the server. This should improve in time because Kodi will cache the images.

That said, maybe you experience some slowdown/lag of the skin because it's still getting/caching all kinds of content in the background ?

 

I have a celeron NUC myself and a cheap/slow android tablet to test with and the skin is still extremely fast with that hardware.

 

Maybe you could define what you call laggy a bit better ?

Also what's the cpu load on the machine ? Maybe there's something running in the background that causes the lag.

 

Are you using the latest version of the skin and XBMB3C addon ?

 

As for the submenu; It's a confirmed bug, just found out myself

 

If you first enter the homescreen and press a tile it will take you to the action and skips the submenu.

If you then go back to home and press the tile it will show the submenu.

 

I will look into this and fix it. It's only happening in "classic" mode of the skin.

Is there a quick key to swap between channel groups when in epg? At the moment I need to press back then go to groups and change, a button to bring the bouquets menu would be better if possible

1. You can alter the whole menu and submenu's as you wish.

For example if you'f like to change the submenu of live TV go to settings --> skin settings --> configure home menu tiles

select your live TV tile and press "edit submenu", you can now change the order of the menu, add tiles etc.

 

2. Well, that's the default behaviour in XBMC/Kodi but... you can customize really a lot of kodi, just like you can customize this.

To open up the "sideblade menu" for Titan you need to call the action "SetFocus(9000)". If you define this action in the keymap.xml file you can assign a button on your remote to that action.

Offcourse you can also assign a button to directly open the view you want. In my own personal situation I have a button on my remote to open LiveTV channels and another button to open TV Guide etc.

 

3. On my todo list is to add more views for LiveTV, incuding a "more rows" EPG view and integration of genre colors. Will be fixed within a few weeks.

 

4. The screen dim issue is something I've heard of more often and is not skin related but Kodi/XBMC. In fact it is the screensaver dim-mode that won't go out of dimmode. The best solution is to assign a different screensaver.

 

5. For the DVD playback, just add a tile to the homescreen for "play DVD". Go to settings --> skin settings --> configure menu tiles.

Press add to add a new tile --> select "common" and all the way on the bottom you'll see "play DVD". Offcourse you can also add this shortcut to a submenu of another tile, it's up to you.

Ah, that's a tricky one as it's some sort of native window in the PVR section.

I think you could use this command for that:  SendClick(28)

 

So, for example if you want to map the "z" key on your keyboard to open that dialog, add this to the keymap.xml file:

<z>SendClick(28)</z>

Offcourse you can also use this for buttons on your remote.

You have to re-assign the widget after changing the label. Currently I don't know a way around that.

@null_pointer and @jasonmcroy: new beta version of the skin is available on the beta repo.

I skinned the custom xbmb3c dialogs for the infodialog, personinfo and special search.

 

To access the search you can add a tile to your homescreen, it's available in the "common" section of available shortcuts.

 

@StealthDefender: this update also includes the fix for the submenu in classic mode.

 

New version number for the beta is 2.2.23 for Gotham and 3.2.23 for Helix

Wow! you so totally rock! that is some stellar work on the skinned dialogs

 

They look great and seam to work very well, I only played for about 20 min or so but the flow and bringing up and closing the dialogs was working very well.

 

Only thing I noticed was when I went to add the search custom action to a main menu tile was that the action did not have a name, it was blank I guessed that it was the last one in the list and named it manually and once that was done it worked very well.

 

One comment on the aesthetics which is not really my area of strength but the a-z buttons on the search screen are very big compared to the area for the results, that is just my feeling anyway.

I forgot to include the language file so that's why the title was blank. Fixed it on the repo so will be fine now.

 

The main reason why I have kinda large buttons for the onscreen keyboards (including the one in the search dialog) is because the skin is touchscreen friendly. Smaller buttons are hard to touch on a small tablet device. But you're right it may be a bit too large in perspective of the results area. I'll try to play around with it some more tomorrow, maybe I can size it a bit down.

Jason, the images are delivered by the MediaBrowser server. Could you please check your artwork in the MB3 management if those low-res backgrounds exist there ?

The skin doesn't do anything with the images, it just presents the images that it retrieves from the MB3-addon.

 

Also I know that the images from the MB3 server can be retrieved in given sizes and quality. The MB3 addon should pick up the biggest size and quality but maybe there's a little error in there. That's why I ask you to look up the distorted image in the MB3 webmanager. I think that the distorted images you see are just images that are present on your collection in MB3

Nice! Without the approval I cannot use the sounds so we'll just have to wait a bit more.

As for the splash screen: any possibiliy you can create a generic version too ? With kodi logo or something perhaps.

The current splashscreen is the original one from MediaPortal as the skin was originally ported from mediaportal but I like yours better :-)

Hi, there is indeed a small "bug" in the skin: it's set to in progress episodes by default and not to next episodes.

If you have no in progress episodes there's no way to navigate to the button to change the widget content.

 

The workaround is this:

1. make sure you have a episode in progress (just watch a bit or FF and stop it)

2. if you navigatie to the TV Shows home tile, navigate to the widget.

3. Press "UP" which will allow you to change the widget to "nextup episodes"

4. the preference should be saved so it will now Always diaply nextup (untill you change preference again)

 

The current problem/bug will be fixed within the next days by setting the default widget assignment to recent episodes instead.

Why was it working before ? There was a small error in the xbmb3c addon and the skin so that the "in progress" items displayed "nextup" instead, which btw also contains in progress.
