jriker1 21 Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 I have noticed that the show The Voice in the US is not presenting properly. I can not change the naming as the shows are put there programatically. SOmetimes it's other countries but this is what I have right now: The folder structure is Any idea why it's pulling in this Case Italy? Again I've seen it return others as well. Thanks. JR
Luke 42083 Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Hi, you could try renaming the series folder to include the year. Please see if that helps. thanks.

Thanks Luke. You may have missed the part where I wrote the folder names and content is automated so I can't rename them. Out of curiosity where are you expecting the year to go? These are seasonal TV series not a movie that was released in a given year so not sure I fully get it. I would really ask why it's returning an Italy version of the show.
Luke 42083 Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 It could be The Voice (2000) or whatever the year is. Without that, if there happen to be more than one series of the same name, then you're essentially just rolling the dice in terms of which one you'll get.
Luke 42083 Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Quote I would really ask why it's returning an Italy version of the show. I don't know. That's a question for your highest priority metadata fetcher for the library and why they're returning that show as the first result when searching for the voice. But if you just put the year in the series folder name, then you'll never have to deal with these kinds of ambiguities. How to report a problem. Thanks.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I use "The Voice (2011)" for mine but look what TVDB provides in a search for "The Voice". But at the same time it should be easy enough just to select Identify and correct the issue or change the Series externalid to proper ones and Refresh w/replace images. But techically it should be "The Voice (US)" as that is how TVDB list it as there are a lot of countries airing their version of that series.

jriker1 21 Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 Thanks. Guess I'll have to leave it as the data is pulled dynamically from the network's JSON data and I have loads of different shows loading thru my custom app so can't manually be changing them. Now could I add an extra later of string data to have the folder be named based on manually entered values and not dynamically from existing data? Sure. Just not sure I want to deal with that right now with all the other things I'm coding into my app so will have to get back to it later.
Carlo 4561 Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I would re-visit your automation to add one of the many existing utilities that can automatically rename your movies and shows or pass on ones it's can't automatically rename so you can manually do them. Once they load in Emby there isn't a way to know it's the wrong show or movie until you go and watch it. Good file naming is pretty mandatory to getting worthwhile results that are always accurate.
