wakeboarder141 40 Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Somehow I have users that are getting into other users' accounts. How do I go about making sure they can only login under their own name? Are they not password protected?
pwhodges 2012 Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Presumably when you set them up you gave them passwords. It is possible to set an account to not require a password on the local network (i.e., in principle, within them home). Might you you have selected this option? If the users concerned are outside your network, it is possible that Emby is not recognising the network correctly. Are the network settings defining this correct? Do you have a VPN (which I understand can screw this up if not set up right)? Paul
wakeboarder141 40 Posted November 27, 2020 Author Posted November 27, 2020 These are remote users that set up their own accounts. I'm not on a VPN.

Luke 42080 Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Quote Are they not password protected? Hi, these are users on your server. Have you checked to see if they have passwords using the user management features in emby server?

I can go to their username and it gives me the option to set a new password for them. Are they automatically password protected or do I need to manually do that for them?

Solution pwhodges 2012 Posted November 27, 2020 Solution Posted November 27, 2020 Ah, so they set up Emby Connect accounts, and you set up corresponding server accounts. Do you not set up passwords at that point? Because there's no other way those accounts will have passwords! They are not the same as the Connect accounts. Paul

I was assuming their Emby Connect account passwords were automatically being used. Thank you for the clarification.
