There are no “mb” files on the Shield. does Emby on Shield create log files? Is there a way to enable it? I checked the app’s settings and the only option I find is “Send logs to developer” which I’ve selected a couple times now. Edited December 21, 2020 by ShoutingMan

I’ve done the process as requested, right here in this thread. I’ve posted the problem. I’ve shared Emby Server logs i was told those logs aren’t the right ones, and I need Emby app logs. But no one can explain how to get Emby app logs from the Shield. (I’ve sent logs multiple times from the nvidia shield Emby app settings, as noted. I’ve checked for the hidden local logs with a special file explorer app as requested, but there are no logs.) I’m super confused I’m being asked to provide log files that Emby doesn’t seem to have. What I can say is that Android Emby doesn’t play files that every other device I have can. Edited December 21, 2020 by ShoutingMan
ShoutingMan 101 Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 I have the latest Server update 4.5.4 so I tried again. Here's what's happening: Emby Shield and Sony TV (both Android apps) Press play Emby screen goes black with "waiting" blue circle spinning on top If I skip forward it will start playing. I can then skip back to the beginning, hit-play again within the active the video controls, and it will play normally from there. This is a for ripped discs from the "Community" TV series, Season 2 and 3. Season 1 plays fine (24 episodes). This does not happen on macOS Safari, Win10 Edge, iOS, iPadOS, AppleTV, or webOS (LG TV). The play normally, so it's not a ripped-disc or corrupt file problem. The attached log is the only Emby Server log created during the period that I just explored and recreated this behavior. I tried to play video that stalls and requires the jump-forward / back / play to work. Then I played a video that works normally. Then I repeated the not-right behavior. There are no other log files for transcoding, etc. embyserver.txt
ShoutingMan 101 Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 (edited) Exactly what you were doing and what happened. Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem I played "Community" S02E07 (ripped DVD, full bit rate, MKV) that stalls and requires the jump-forward / back / play to work. Then I played "Community" S01E01 (ripped DVD, full bit rate, MKV) a video that works normally. nVidia Shield, Emby App from google store The time you sent the log (in Eastern Time please - UTC -5) 2:43 pm EST The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time "HTPC" Edited December 21, 2020 by ShoutingMan
ebr 16183 Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Have you tried simply remuxing one of the ones that doesn't work as expected? This sounds a lot like a header issue and some players are more sensitive to that than others. Your log doesn't show anything obvious.

(I started doing that, but when I found it was specific to Android, I didn’t think it would be caused by the video files.)
