UnderMiner 11 Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 Hello, We record daily with Emby and an HDHomerun and the native format is AVC in a .ts file container. For playback on an Apple TV 4K, we have Emby routinely convert files to an H.264 format in an .mp4 container. The process uses my NVidia GPU to greatly assist with the conversion. I am trying to use the same process but with the H.265 container. At the moment, ffmpeg only uses the CPU. Does Emby support GPU encoding in the H.265 format and if yes, are there any additional settings required other than selecting H.265 rather than H.264 in the Emby conversion interface? I have the hardware selection for H.264 and H.265 on the Server (Windows 10 x64).
Luke 42081 Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 Hi, yes emby does support hardware accelerated hevc encoding.
