So with that said, what exactly are you try to do with it? I can likely help you find an alternate solution if I know what you're trying to do. I use MCEBuddy because for the most part it does exactly what I need and is automated enough I don't have to monitor what it is doing. I convert all my recorded TV movies and shows after editing the TS files with Avidemux, MCEBuddy might be for cutting commercials but it's accuracy sucks for me needs so I bypass that feature. It extracts my subs and converts them to SRT....except PGS and VobSub, which I do manually since it messes them up completely. Sometimes I have it archive my TS files, and other times I have it delete them. This feature is handy as it frees up space on the fly on certain drives. The biggest thing about MCEBuddy is I can edit a hard drive full of TS files and drop them into MCEBuddy, go on vacation for a week or two....and when I come home it has converted everything and cleaned up my hard drive.
Carlo 4561 Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 sickbeard_mp4_automator is the tool I'd suggest checking into. It's a powerhouse for doing conversions, extracting subs, creating stereo tracks, etc.
Ronstang 294 Posted November 25, 2020 Author Posted November 25, 2020 Thanks, but that's a script. I have no knowledge of scripts so in the unlikely chance I got it to work I would not be able to customize it to my needs. That is far too complicated for someone like me with no coding background etc.....I need plug and play GUI solutions that I can learn to tweak, MCEBuddy may not be the ultimate but it's easy and my resulting MKV files are fantastic. I'm currently researching the few problems MCEBuddy creates for me and seeing if I can come up with a way to make those more automated and less time consuming.
Carlo 4561 Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 It's really just a matter of installing Python and extracting the script and then setting the ini file for how you would want it to work. Once setup it would make your life much easier. If you can be a bit flexible on time I could help you with this on my own time via remote TeamViewer session. I could help you get python installed, this script as well as batch files I use and my customization I use. I could help get the initial script tailored for you use as well. You of course could try to follow the directions for setup on their site and I could assist when you get stuck. This could take 30 minutes or so. I can help you with this if you're willing to work around my time doing support with other customers on Emby issues. Just shoot me a PM if interested now or in the future. You may not like it but I think you will once you see it work and do it's magic.
Ronstang 294 Posted November 25, 2020 Author Posted November 25, 2020 Thanks Carlo, I will talk with you more about this. I appreciate it. My biggest task at the moment is to decide on settings for HEVC encoding so I can start deleting my TS files so I can use those hard drives for backup or my converted files. 1
