Max Video number the Database/Emby can handle?

Hi,

Is there any known limit of videos for emby or for one library/how far have you already pushed it?

I played a bit around with a youtube Download/Backup System in the last view weeks which resulted a bit over 100k Videos in Emby... and it started to get a bit buggy.
I realy know its an "edge use case" and tbh dont expected it to work at all 😛 but i am just curious if anyone tried similar amounts of videos.

Regards, :)

I've got over 100K videos in a couple of libraries and have no issues.  After bulk changing libraries of this size it's a good idea to run a database vacuum command which can help performance a lot.

What did you mean by "buggy"?  Was it performance related such as slow queries or loading?  If so vacuum is usually the ticket for this.

several million if not billion of records

the performance will slow as it gets larger - but thats partly down to your hardware

Also i have had well over 500k of photos in emby and the db performance was acceptable even on a low power NAS

Don't interrupt it when it's running.  I've had it take anywhere from a few seconds to around 4 minutes to run depending on how fragmented the db was.

What is the DB stored on? SSD? NVME? That will make a huge difference when you start to get to hundreds of thousands.
