This Memory 2 Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 I'm very new to this but I've successfully followed tutorials on how to enable remote access through port forwarding. Great connection when I'm out of the house. However, now when I connect to my server at home through my In-Home Access it's unbearably slow. Both Local and Public ports use 8096 and 8920, so may that be the problem? I've tried changing the Local port numbers but then I have no connection to the server from home. I would very much appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this issue.
rbjtech 5284 Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 How are you connecting locally ? You may be using the external URL which means you are going out onto the internet and then back in again. If you use the 'In-Home (Lan) Access' link as shown in the dashboard - then that should all work locally. 1 1
This Memory 2 Posted November 20, 2020 Author Posted November 20, 2020 Ohh, I didn't know I had to literally click the 'In-Home (LAN) access' link. Doing so resolved my issue. Thank you, rbjtech! 2
