WolverineKnight 0 Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 I have a TV Show. On TVDB, the metadata is listed wrong. However, on IMDB the data is right. However, even when I use "identify" to redirect it to the IMDB, it continues to populate with the data from TVDB. TVDB list the episodes incorrectly, and list episode as separate despite the fact the episodes are 15 min long and come together. They are also in the wrong order.
Ronstang 294 Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 I had the same problem but the bad news is from what I was told the API for IMDB is too expensive so Emby does not use it and thus TVDB is the only option.
Luke 42078 Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Hi, what metadata providers are enabled on your TV library, and in what order? Whichever one is listed first, I would use the Id from that site as it will produce the best results for you. we don't pull metadata from Imdb as it's not an open data service. When you enter an Imdb id into the Identify feature, it is only used to try and lookup the title on tvdb or moviedb using that Imdb id. If they don't have that Imdb on file, then the search goes back to being by name. So generally I would suggest doing it by moviedb id or tvdb id, depending on your settings for the library.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 This is a common issue with all multi episode cartoons as the multi episode do not match provider metadata. TVDB breaks them out per episode so you would need to name them accordingly. So IMDB episode S01E01 would be TVDB/TMDB S01E01-E03 and so on, S01E02 would actually be S01E04-E05. But this is actually dependent on what the files contain, but this Show would appear to be the way I have shown above.

WolverineKnight 0 Posted November 19, 2020 Author Posted November 19, 2020 I labeled them S01 E01-E02, etc. based on how they are listed in TVDB. But I don't see the multiple titles. When I tried to use OMDB, it listed them wrong using the same format.
