Help with season division in Anime

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello,

i have a problem with my libraries: i added some ANIMEs in my library but i can't have correctly division and can't see correctly the metadata

I use thetvdb as metadata db, if I use absolute order, all episodes are in unic folder but metadata doesn't complain.

If i use the season separated order, emby create some division folder of the Anime

anyone can help me? I would like to have all the episodes in one season/folder with the correct metadata

in my specific case, I'm adding Slam Dunk

the anime is a single series, but to be able to see all the metadata correctly, I have to divide it into 4 seasons following the order of thetvdb.

how can i use absolute ordering of thetvdb in emby?

if i use this order: https://thetvdb.com/series/slam-dunk/seasons/absolute/1

i can see metadata until episode 26 :(

thank you

Sorry I do not follow.  May need a complete breakdown of folder structure and naming scheme.

I added series with 100 episodes (1-100.ext) in Season 1 folder, changed Display order to Absolute, Refresh w/replace images.

All files display their absolute metadata by number.

Hi there, have you explored using the metadata editor on the series?

again problem.

i activated the Absolute order but now:

1) in Specials/extra i see only just one file instead of 4

2) in season 1 i see correctly all 102 episodes with correct metadata, but i see again the movie that appears also in Special/extra folder

3) i see also the season 2 and 3 folder with duplicated view of episodes

what am I wrong yet again?

In the Libraries page of the dashboard, on the Advanced tab, have you set "Display specials within seasons they aired in"?

@Luke this is a quirk as Specials have specific positions they are in and Absolute sort of breaks that.  Technically no Absolute order for Specials.

GREAT!!!

another issue fixed.

now remains only the problem with special, i see only number 1 and not the other 3 :(

edit: I also fixed hokuto no ken's folder for viewing all episodes in ONE folder but even in this one, in the Movies/special Folder, appears only one episode instead of 9.

The folder structure is correct :(

I wonder if all four of the specials got merged together.

no, if i play the only one special in the folder, it will be played only them

Then they were probably merged together.

When you click into that episode is there a version selection drop down box?

i found a way, to solve all my problem:

in series folder i create the subfolder:

- Season1 (with all episodes with absolute numeration)

- Movies & Special (with all special, movies, OAV ecc)

in Emby i set the Series with "On Air" order, with this option, i see all the special files named S00E01 (like thetvdb naming codes). i tune up the category in emby, and when i finish, i set this folder in emby BLOCKED.

Then, i go to the series option and change the order with ABSOLUTE, in this way, the Movies & Speciale remain blocked with my order, and the season 1 folder with all episoed numbered in absolute order
