Carlo 4561 Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Hmm, yea maybe still doable. Thanks Happy2Play. @kaledi responding back to your PM.

Who is your ISP? A company called County Broadband. If I am in a CG-NAT type situation, what steps do I need to take. I will contact my ISP tomorrow for a start
Carlo 4561 Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 It appears it is likely still a CG-NAT as the ISP router has a different WAN IP then what canyouseeme and Emby report. He's going to give his ISP a call tomorrow and check along with possibly getting a static IP is possible/needed.
kaledi 41 Posted November 17, 2020 Author Posted November 17, 2020 Update: spoke with first line techincal who weren't particularly helpful. I got a message from second line support and they informed me I need a static IP address. I've requested one and will update once that has been confirmed.
Carlo 4561 Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Once you get it you may have to reboot the Internet router for it to take. But once done I think things may just start working. If not send me a PM and I can remote back in and help you get it working rather quickly. 1
Carlo 4561 Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Did they give you any kind of time frame?
kaledi 41 Posted November 24, 2020 Author Posted November 24, 2020 Recieved a static IP and as if by magic remote access work. The increased bandwidth really helps for a smooth experience. One thing I've noticed though is that the server is transcoding some videos as apparently it exceeds bandwidth. This is despite removing limitations on the network settings page. Any ideas? The video in question is averaging about 15mbps and is in H2.64 so no compatability issues.
kaledi 41 Posted November 24, 2020 Author Posted November 24, 2020 I had to setting playback settings from auto to a very high bit rate for direct play to occur. Is this normal behaviour? 15mbps doesn't sound excessive
Carlo 4561 Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 Yes there are two settings for control of bitrate. One is on the server and the other is in every client. I personally change this on all my clients to a high value so it basically doesn't do anything. That allows me to then control things from the server side. The only exception for me would be if on a cell network or wifi that's not very fast, then I may temp lower the settings. Glad your remote worked properly as I thought we got it setup correctly with the forwarding!
